About the Group

One foundation. Four callings.

Our story begins in 1954, when Chief Dr. Zaccheaus Olukayode Fasanya Kakanfo started Fidelity Construction Co. Ltd in Lagos — building first across Lagos and Port Harcourt, and in time across the Atlantic to North America.

Fidelity Construction Co. Ltd is the founding heritage of Fidelity Foundation Group Inc. — a building lineage carried across generations, from the streets of Lagos and Port Harcourt in Rivers State to cities across North America. The company was later incorporated on June 8, 1982 (RC Number 47613), with its registered office at 33, Little Road, Yaba, Lagos State. Fidelity Foundation Group Inc. is the holding company that carries that lineage today, at the head of a family of work spanning construction, philanthropy, technology, and care.

The modern chapter opened in Alberta in 2019, when the family founded Fidelity Healing Homes — safe, therapeutic, family-like homes for children and youth, and supportive living for adults, grounded in cultural programming and the belief that healing happens in community. From its Edmonton base, the care work took its place alongside the older building tradition.

Gathered into a single group, the family’s callings now stand together: building construction across cities in North America and in Lagos, Nigeria; the Fidelity Foundation, a dedicated philanthropy and donations wing; an information systems and data management section; and child and youth care through Fidelity Healing Homes.

Four different crafts, one conviction running through all of them since 1954: strong foundations change lives — whether the foundation is poured in concrete, built in a child’s sense of belonging, given away in generosity, or laid in systems people can trust.

The foundations we pour

Every building the group raises begins below the groundline — engineered, inspected, and built to carry weight for generations. We take the same care with everything that stands on top of it.

The foundation we stand on

A lineage carried across generations since 1954 — from a Lagos construction house to group homes in Alberta. The group’s values were formed on building sites and around kitchen tables alike: fidelity to people, stewardship of resources, and showing up for community.

The foundation we give

Through the Fidelity Foundation, giving is not what is left over after business — it is built into the structure of the group itself, supporting children, youth, families, and communities in Canada and Nigeria.

Today

One group, four callings

Fidelity Foundation Group Inc. stands as the holding company — construction, philanthropy, information systems, and care under one foundation, rooted in Edmonton and building and giving in Lagos.

The Divisions

Four lines of business, one standard of care

Each division has its own craft and its own roots. Together they describe a group that builds, gives, connects, and cares — and holds every one of those words to the same standard.

Building Construction

Commercial & Private Buildings · Founded in Lagos, 1954 · North America & Nigeria

Our story begins in 1954, when Chief Dr. Zaccheaus Olukayode Fasanya Kakanfo started Fidelity Construction Co. Ltd in Lagos, Nigeria. In its early stages the company’s work spanned Lagos and Port Harcourt in Rivers State; carried across generations, it later expanded across the Atlantic to North America. Fidelity Construction Co. Ltd was incorporated on June 8, 1982. This is the group’s founding heritage — a construction lineage dating to 1954, still building today.

The group’s construction division builds the physical foundations of community life: commercial and private buildings across cities in North America and in Lagos, Nigeria. Shops and offices where livelihoods are made; homes where families put down roots.

We build the way we care — methodically, safely, and to a standard that outlasts us. From groundwork and structure through to the final finish, every stage is held to disciplined craftsmanship, honest timelines, and an uncompromising regard for the safety of the people on site and the people who will one day live and work inside.

DIVISION 02

Fidelity Foundation

Philanthropy & Donations

The Fidelity Foundation is the giving heart of the group — its philanthropy and donations wing. It exists for a simple reason: a group that prospers in a community owes that community more than good work. It owes generosity.

Through the Foundation, the group directs donations and hands-on support to children, youth, families, and communities — in Canada and in Nigeria, the two homes of the group’s work. Giving back is not an afterthought or a seasonal campaign here; it is built into the group’s structure, named in its very title, and funded as a first principle of how the whole enterprise is run.

  • Donations supporting children, youth, and families
  • Community support in Canada and Nigeria
  • Generosity structured into the group — not left to leftovers
  • A standing commitment, in the group’s own name: Foundation
Roots

The Foundation carries forward a family impulse visible across the group’s whole lineage — builders who have given back since the Lagos days of 1954, and a family in Alberta that organized its life around care in 2019. The wing gives that impulse a permanent home and a wider reach.

Information Systems & Data Management

Systems · Data · Insight

A group that builds in several cities, cares for vulnerable people, and gives across an ocean runs on information — and that information must be exact, secure, and worthy of the trust placed in it. The Information Systems & Data Management section is the group’s digital backbone.

It designs and stewards the systems that keep a multi-city, cross-border group connected and informed: records kept with precision, data protected with rigour, and insight put in the hands of the people making decisions — from a construction schedule to a care plan. Quiet, exacting, and essential, this is the division that makes the other three work as one.

  • Information systems that connect a multi-city, cross-border group
  • Data management held to standards of precision and security
  • Records and reporting the whole group can rely on
  • Insight that supports better building, giving, and care
Roots

Care work taught the group early that good records are a form of respect — for funders, for regulators, and above all for the people whose lives the records describe. The section grew from that discipline into the group’s centre for systems and data.

Child & Youth Care

Delivered through Fidelity Healing Homes · Alberta

This is the group’s modern chapter, and it remains its beating heart. Through Fidelity Healing Homes, the group provides residential group care and supportive living in Alberta — safe, therapeutic, family-like homes where children and youth can heal, belong, and grow, and where adults with complex needs are supported with dignity.

Programming is grounded in culture and connection: Indigenous and cultural programming — including powwows, Sundance, and other cultural gatherings and ceremonies recognised by each child’s Nation — alongside holistic approaches that honour the whole person. Families are part of the work, not bystanders to it; one program is devoted to caring and supporting parents and their children together.

  • Child & youth group care living, including intensive treatment
  • Group living with Indigenous or cultural programming
  • Family reunification — caring and supporting parents and their children together
  • Supportive independent living for youth and adults, including complex-needs and PDD supports
Roots

Family-founded in 2019, Fidelity Healing Homes is the group’s modern founding chapter in Canada: a family in Alberta set out to create healing homes, joining a heritage of building and giving that reaches back to Lagos in 1954.

Where it began · 1954

Lagos is where the group’s construction heritage began in 1954, when Chief Dr. Zaccheaus Olukayode Fasanya Kakanfo started Fidelity Construction Co. Ltd — later incorporated on June 8, 1982 (RC Number 47613), with its registered office at 33, Little Road, Yaba, Lagos State. The group still builds commercial and private buildings in one of Africa’s great cities — and gives back there through the Fidelity Foundation.

Two homes, one standard. Whether the work is a building rising in Lagos, a home opening its doors in Alberta, or data moving securely between them, it is held to the same measure: fidelity — to people, to craft, and to community.

Our Values

What the name promises

“Fidelity” means faithfulness — and “Foundation” is both what we build on and what we stand on. Four values carry that promise into every division.

I

Foundation

Everything lasting is built on something sound. We do the unseen groundwork — in concrete, in care plans, in data, in trust — properly, every time.

II

Stewardship

Buildings, donations, information, and young lives are all entrusted to us. We hold what is entrusted as carefully as if it were our own — because to the people who entrusted it, it is everything.

III

Excellence

Craftsmanship on a building site, rigour in a database, warmth in a group home — the setting changes, the standard does not. Good enough is not a setting we use.

IV

Community

We build for communities, care within them, and give back to them — in Edmonton, across North America, and in Lagos. A community that trusts us has given us our licence to work.
